  • Please take some time to review the services and fee information here. If it seems like we could be a good fit, the process is simple:

    1. Click to schedule a complimentary consultation or contact me directly to share a little bit about what brings you to therapy and what you are looking to work on.

    2. After our 15-minute consultation if we decide to work together, then we will schedule a full 50-minute session.

    3. Lastly, I will send you intake paperwork to complete electronically before our first full session.

  • Although friends and family can be valuable sources of support when you are struggling, a therapist can offer an unbiased and objective perspective to help you. Many people find that therapists are a supportive asset for personal growth, improving interpersonal relationships, and handling the stresses of daily life. The benefits you gain from therapy depend on how actively you engage in the process and apply what you learn.

    Some benefits of therapy include:

    • Increasing self-awareness, confidence, and authenticity

    • Developing skills to improve your relationships

    • Learning healthier ways to cope with intense and frequent emotions

    • Improving communication and listening skills

    • Discovering new ways to solve problems

    • Healing unresolved trauma and pain

  • Because each person has different issues and goals for therapy, the approach will vary depending on the individual. In general, you can expect to discuss current events in your life, your personal history relevant to the issues you are working on, and any progress or insights gained from the previous session. Depending on your specific needs, therapy can be short-term, focused on a specific issue, or longer-term, aimed at personal development or processing unresolved trauma. In either case, consistency in scheduling sessions (usually weekly) is the most effective way to address the issues that brought you to therapy.

You can expect me to provide a safe, supportive space that encourages open exploration of your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I understand that change can be uncomfortable and some topics may feel awkward to discuss. To help ease this process, I strive to bring humor and lightheartedness into the session when appropriate. The therapy session is your time to use as you wish; however, as a goal-oriented therapist, I may gently challenge you if I sense that you are avoiding a topic or situation that is important to achieving your therapy goals.

  • I am not in-network with any insurance plans, which allows me to create a treatment plan based on what will truly benefit you, without being limited by insurance restrictions on session length or treatment duration. I do not believe an insurance company should determine what is medically necessary or require a mental health diagnosis to qualify for services.

My priority is always your well-being, safety, and privacy. Insurance companies are increasingly requesting detailed clinical notes as a condition for reimbursement, which can compromise the confidentiality that is essential for honest, effective therapy.

For couples and family therapy, it's important to know that insurance will only cover sessions if one person is identified as the primary client and has a qualifying diagnosis. This can shift the focus of treatment in a way that may not align with your therapy goals. Working outside of insurance allows us to tailor therapy to your needs, without labeling or constraints.

  • At the beginning of treatment, we will discuss the frequency and duration of sessions that will be most beneficial for your specific concerns. Unfortunately, healing is not a linear process and some sessions may leave you feeling on top of the world, while others may be difficult and you might question the process. I believe in having regular check-ins about your healing journey and determining when it may be appropriate to end treatment. The goal is never for a client to be in therapy forever. From the very first session, the plan is to have an endpoint where you leave therapy with a toolbox of skills to navigate life in a healthier, more productive way on your own.

  • Telehealth is provided through a HIPAA-secured virtual platform. To ensure a smooth session, you will need a reliable internet connection, as well as a camera and microphone so I can see and hear you clearly. While a phone will work, using a laptop or computer may provide a better experience. The therapy session is confidential, and unless agreed upon in advance, it should be just you and me in the telehealth session. It is important to choose a private location free of distractions for each session.

You must be physically located in Nevada or Pennsylvania at the time of session, as that is where I am licensed to provide services.

  • Confidentiality is one of the most important aspects of the client-therapist relationship. Successful therapy requires a high degree of trust, especially when discussing sensitive topics that are typically not shared elsewhere. You can expect that what you discuss in sessions will remain confidential. However, there may be times when you want your therapist to share information or provide an update to someone (e.g., your doctor or a family member). By law, your therapist cannot release this information without obtaining your written consent first.

In the paperwork you will receive prior to beginning services, there will be more detail about confidentiality and the mandated exceptions to confidentiality in the therapeutic relationship. State law and professional ethics require therapists to maintain confidentiality except for the following situations:

*Suspected abuse or neglect of children, adults, or elders, which requires the therapist to report to the authorities, including Child Protection Services and law enforcement, based on information provided by the client or other sources.

*If the therapist has reason to believe the client is at serious risk of harming themselves or has made threats to harm another person.

  • Our cancellation policy requires at least 24 hours’ notice if you are unable to attend a scheduled appointment. You can cancel or reschedule your appointment through your client portal or by contacting me directly via text or email. If you miss, cancel, or reschedule an appointment without giving 24 hours' notice, you will be responsible for the full session fee.
